Kurzprofil

Ninja Steinbach-Hüther wurde mit einer Arbeit zu Publikationen afrikanischer Intellektueller auf dem deutschen und französischen Buchmarkt in Paris und Leipzig promoviert, hat dann am Leibniz-Institut für Länderkunde (IfL) über die Praxis und Konzepte geographischer Gesellschaften geforscht und arbeitet seit 2024 im T!RAUM Projekt zur Stärkung der kommunalen Handlungskompetenz am Beispiel von Aue-Bad Schlema. Dafür begleitet sie städtische Entscheidungsprozesse und untersucht deren Akzeptanz in verschiedenen Bevölkerungsgruppen.

Meine akademischen Interessen beinhalten Wissenszirkulationen unter Globalisierungsbedingungen, Wissens- und Kulturtransfers, Mittler(-institutionen), Raumsemantiken, Verräumlichungsprozesse, Global- und transnationale Geschichte sowie Methodenmix.

In der Lehre setze ich den Fokus auf Methodenseminare am Global and European Studies Institute der Universität Leipzig sowie auf Seminare zu transnationalen Kulturtransfers in Kollaboration mit Kolleg:innen der Universität Leipzig und der Ecole normale supérieure Paris, darüber hinaus auf Arbeitsgruppen für Doktorand:innen im Bereich der Verknüpfung von Geographiegeschichte und -forschung mit Digital Humanities sowie auf Thesis Advisory Committees im Rahmen der Doktorandenausbildung an der Graduate School Global and Area Studies der Universität Leipzig.
